Hi Eric here.
When I turned 16 back in '81, the old man figured
he would be a good guy and buy me a car.
He was the manager of the body shop in our home town and was always wheeling and dealing used Fords.
Turns out a young guy was heading into work at the dealership and blew the engine in his 1974 Mustang.
Pops came home from work and said "I bought you a car, but it needs a little work."
Indeed, an engine rebuild was a little work that needed to be done. So I emptied the bank account and a friend of dad's went to work.
IIRC the block on that 2.3 had cracked and they had to sleeve cylinder #1.
I got my car and all the mechanic had to day was "Be gentle."
You know keep it at 60 mph max, and don't horse the motor.
I threw some Pioneer gear in it and my ride was complete.
I learned to love that car. The 2.3 was peppy enough and with the 4 gear transmission it was fun to drive.
I can tell you that 2.3 hit the redline many many times and I could get him up to 90 mph. (unless that speedo was fibbing)
When I started making better money, I sold it and moved onto Ford pickup trucks.
Kinda wish I'd have left it in the barn until I got older.

Hi, I'm Cameron. I bought a '75 Mustang II v6 in July with my Summertime Blues money. She was the previous owner's first car and now it's my first car! Body is solid, though has a bit of rust throughout, motor is decent enough mechanically to drive home (though the clutch and/or trans put up a fight) and the interior needs attentive restoration. Driving her was a real thrill and a little frightening on these Texas toll-highways. It's a neat project I'd love to work on and I'd love any help or offers for parts and such. I just chanced across the FB page and of course found this forum. I had no idea the Mustang IIs were so beloved!

I bought my 1976 Cobra II new just out of high school. My Car and I have been to 48 states and have been in many car shows. I took here of the road in 1997 to began a complete restoration and some new up dates, Things had stalled do to family and Military assignments, But now I'm getting back to it with my sons and also have two more to do as well. My sons and I own Cobra II, King Cobra, and Mach I. Over the years I have built many others, Had a lot of fun racing them. I put everything from Boss 429's in them to small block. I also have a few other mustangs from 1965 Shelby, 1969 Mach I. As I start doing these projects I will start posting photos. Hope to pass on my knowledge. I have a lot of projects on the mustang II site modifying transmissions from T5, AOD's, and Top Loaders. I'm going to tackle a T45 with the help from one company, I'm also putting in a insane Stroker 302 with twin turbos. I'm retired and have time to do my dream builds.

Got my first II, a 76 Ghia, 4 years ago after the project I had been working on was stolen. Turns out the 302 had been rebuilt recently and ran like a scalded cat, but the floors were rotten as hell. A few months after getting the car a buddy of mine found a rust free, but dismantled 76 Stallion edition with a bad 302. Problem solved! Almost 2 years ago the same friend finds me a project that I had been after for a very long time so unfortunately the II got put on hold after putting a lot of sweat equity into it. Well turns out that the "new" projects rear subframe is totally rotten, so time to blow the dust off of the Stallion and get the old girl road worthy over the winter! Never should have put it on the back burner, but live and learn I guess lol.
I'll get some pictures together and throw them on here later, not much to see but it's always nice to see what others are working on.
Happy to be here, hopefully word spreads and these forums take off!

i started work on my dads KC that i will be getting from him he got it back in 1990 and really did not take care of it well after 95 although before he put a new water pump and timing chain on it but that about it and it really sat 99% of the time maybe came out once every 5 years and in feb 2016 i started work on it it ran like crap back fired like crazy and had a bad power steering rack leke i went through the entire car top to bottom making everything work had to get a power steering rack rebuilt the crab new exhaust flange donut, and now i am in the work of repainting some of the underside of the car so there will be no rust on the car for the future more i also have it first oil change in 20!!years and fathers day of 2017 i got it to its first car show EVER it was a really big accomplishment for me after all the hard work it runs and drives really well compared to what it did

Not much to see yet, as you can see it's been repainted and the stock silver and black stallion colours are long gone. Might go original when I paint it, but probably not lol This is the day my best friend brought it home for me, that's him and my son after we rolled it off the trailer. like I said, not much to see and being dismantled makes it look like s*** but it's extremely rust free and other than a wavy drivers quarter, she's nice and straight.  This is about where we are now, this picture is 3 years old an she hasn't moved much lol. After doing the 5 bolt conversion in the rear I threw my old 14" Cragars on it, but after finding some 15" slots a bit later I threw them on with a bit bigger tire lol.  Here's the "bit bigger" tire on the slots. May have to shackle the old girl up an inch or two.  |

my name is Jeff i got my 75 ghia 30 yrs ago i am in pascagoula ms my grandad bought mine new has alot of history now just needs lot of work but it is in my wheel house rebuild the whole car once life happens now it time to do it all again

My first car was a 68 notchback 6 cylinder Stang. Way back then there were rumors that the V8 was going away and when the 74 II came out with no V8, I thought that was it. Then in 1975 V8s were back so I started looking for one. Wasn't able to afford one until 1976. I found a new one in Allegan Michigan and bought it on December 3rd 1976. At the time I didn't think it was anything special but it had a V8 and a 4-speed I was happy. As it turns out I am the proud original owner of a 1976 Stallion 302 4-speed II. I drive it as much as I can in the summers in Michigan and have been going to 40 to 50 car shows in the last few years. I am very proud to be Mustang II owner and it is thrilling to see The Reawakening of this little car.

Hey folks. Kevin guillory here from South Louisiana. I'm about to start redoing a 76 mustang ii that I got from a friend. Originally was 4 cylinder 4 speed car now it's a 2.8 4 speed. Might rock the v6 till I get my 310 rebuilt.just debating whether to stay standard shift or convert to a aod or c4

Hi everyone Im from windsor ontario .. Ive owned my 78Notch since i was 17 and have been working on it since. Car was originally a 4cyl with a dying automatic trans .. Ive been through every thing on this car but now im at the point where id like to build it with a goal in mind. Track day Car ! (cause everyone can make a car go fast, But try missing that pole at the end of the street). So ive been looking into suspension modifications and chasssis reinforcement. Hello all, I am a long time Mustanger. We currently have a ‘67 fastback, a ‘69 Mach 1, a ‘74 hatchback, a ‘77 Ghia, a ‘78 hatchback, a ‘03 Mach 1 and a ‘14 GT. I bought our first II in 1980. It was a ‘75 coupe plain Jane. I bought my first Mustang in 1973, it was ‘65 coupe with a 289 four speed. We also had a ‘68 Cyclone GT that was the family car at the time. It was a 428 four speed. We both love our Mustangs.

Hello! My name is Steve German. I drove a 74 Mustang II back in the late 70s, early 80s while in college and during my early married years. We sold it and went on to other vehicles. The last couple of years I began trolling the internet for one like it. A couple of weeks ago I spotted on being advertised by a used car lot outside of Boston, Massachusetts. There were just a few pics but it looked better than most I've seen advertised and it was very much like the one I drove originally. So, I called, made an offer, received a counter-offer and purchased it, hoping that it would at least an ok vehicle I could do a little work to and enjoy. Well, I got there and found a beautiful, original car with only 17,000 miles on it! No rust, beautiful paint and interior -- all original -- way more than I thought I was getting. So, I drove it home and am enjoying it very much! Steve  |

At 16 I bought my first II In 1984 it was a black T-top 1978 King Cobra.I kept it for about 6 years but had to sale due to bad marriage. Now at 50 I bought my second one a 31,000 miles silver King Cobra.
